OLDSMOBILE CONVERSION
- Convert your 1949 - 1964 Oldsmobile 303, 324, 371 or 394 to an up to date TH 350, TH 400, 700 R4, 200 4R or Powerglide. Kit includes all adapters, bolts, fasteners and your modified case and flywheel. Shifting linkage, vacuum lines, driveshaft and kick down apparatus may need to be fabricated or modified. Picture belowshows a TH 350 with modified case and flywheel. Optional side mounts attached to a stock 1950 88 crossmember (crossmember shown in picture is for illustration only).
What we need from you: You will need to supply a clean empty case of your choice ( with the exception of the 200 4R which needs to use a V-8 case only ) and the automatic flywheel ( and flex plate if used on you engine ) from the engine your going to use. This conversion uses 11" converters only. It's best to have your transmission case checked by professionals for any damage. When ordering please indicate engine size, and car it's installed in. Our mounts work with the stock crossmember for automatic transmissions. This conversion takes about 3 months to complete. 1949 - 1964 ............................................... 1957-1966 Buick V8 (361, 401 & 425 engines) This kit is made from the highest quality components including aircraft
grade hardware and T6 aluminum. It is CNC machined for accuracy. Designed
to fit all 57-66 Buick 364-401 and 425 engines. This kit is for the
builder who already has the Buick flexplate from the 64-66 models and a
Chevrolet flexplate for the converter. On 64-66 Models originally equipped
with the Switch pitch 400 or ST400 this is a direct bolt-on. On 57-63
models originally equipped with a dynaflow; it is necessary to use the
later "short snout" starter. This starter was original equipment on 64-66
Buicks with the Buick 400 transmission. On 57-62 Models it will be
necessary to drill and tap an additional bolt hole in the block to
compensate for the change in the upper bolt location on the later
starters. When using an OE flexplate on a model originally equipped with a
dynaflow; It is necesarry to enlarge the I.D. of the flexplate to the
